Denise Bolduc has an extensive background as an artistic director, producer, coordinator, administrator and presenter of international, multi-disciplinary arts events & festivals. Notable international projects include CopyCamp (I & II); Global Spirits: An Inidgenous Showcase; Honouring Theatre Tour and the inaugural Planet IndigenUS. Bolduc has a background in audio production & engineering, theatre production and community project development. Over the year’s she has worked with numerous groups and organizations such as: the Banff Centre for the Arts, Crows Theatre Company, Native Earth Performing Arts, Memorial University, Native Women in the Arts, the Harbourfront Centre, National Indigenous Media Collective etc. She is presently a board member for the ImagineNative Film & Video organization and Forbes Wild Foods, an advisor for the Weeneebeg Film & Video Festival, a member of the Indigenous Peoples Caucus for the Creators Rights Alliance and a committee member for the National Aboriginal Arts Administrators Group. Bolduc has a 20-year history of working professionally across artistic disciplines presenting, supporting and nurturing artistic endeavours. She works independently as an event planner, producer, programmer and promoter as well as an arts consultant, host/speaker, facilitator, researcher and arts advocate. For her tireless efforts, Bolduc recently received the 2009 Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year award. Recent activity includes Guest Speaker at the Dreaming Festival (Australia), Guest Producer/Programmer of the Toronto Aboriginal Youth Meet event and of the Catalyst Café Artists’ Leadership Series; a Communications Publicist with the Weeneebeg Film & Video Festival as well as a Consultant with Rebel Music Productions, the City of Toronto, Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Development Corporation, and the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance. Bolduc is presently working on her first documentary film honouring the life of Cree dancer/choreographer, Rene Highway.
