Youth & Elder Advisory Circle

in the Greater Toronto Area

Graciously funded by the Ontario Ministry of Culture

Artistically Inclined Youth (16-24) Elders (50+)
Are invited to support and guide the development of:

•    Indigenous Youth Leadership Training manual

•    Guiding questions for the leadership training

•    Identify distinct customary laws to protect the transmission of traditional knowledge

The
Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts
(andpva) is developing a Youth & Elder Advisory Circle to oversee
the development of a Creative Action Circles Facilitator Training kit
to engage communities with this unique Indigenous methodology designed
to strengthen cultural identity by validating oral teachings as data.
The Advisory Council will work closely with andpva staff to ensure the
Facilitator Training Kit uses accessible language and includes relevant
and appropriate activities and research about Aboriginal customary laws
commensurate with diverse cultural protocols throughout Ontario.

Youth & Elder Advisory Circle Members will meet a minimum of 4 times between May 2010-March 2011

    musicians and artists to participate in the SLOW FOOD TORONTO
    fundraising event this Friday, December 10th, 2010 6pm-9pm. If you social calendar is not too full, come on out
    and join this delicious celebration.

  • The 7th Annual CIT Variety Showcase will be at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto, ., on December 10, 2010,
    with performances scheduled to start at 7 pm and run through to
    9:30pm.  The evening is by donation and all are invited to attend.
